Upcoming Features

July 2026: Layered Defense Points

Train users to design primary and depth-based defenses for each threat vector.

Cyber War Center is adding Layered Defense Points to Cyber Battle Maps to help users move beyond single-control defense decisions. Each threat vector can include a Layer A and Layer B defense position, requiring users to select both a primary defense mechanism and a secondary defense-in-depth mechanism. This strengthens cyber architecture training by helping users understand where defenses belong, how controls support each other, and how layered protection reduces exposure across the mission environment.

Workflow Steps

  1. Map the Threat Vector: Users review the Cyber Battle Map and identify where each threat vector enters, moves, or targets the environment. Numbered threat paths keep the architecture diagram clean and easy to follow.

  2. Select Layer A Defense: Users choose the primary defense mechanism for the threat vector. Layer A represents the front-line control placed closest to the exposure, entry point, or attack path.

  3. Select Layer B Defense: Users choose the secondary defense mechanism that supports a defense-in-depth strategy. Layer B helps detect, contain, restrict, or reduce impact if the first defense layer is bypassed.

April 2026: Industry Mission Settings

Train and validate readiness inside industry-relevant cyber environments.

Cyber War Center is adding Industry Mission Settings to help organizations align mission-based cyber exercises to the environments they understand best. Customers select a Mission Pack and an industry setting such as healthcare, manufacturing, SaaS, utilities, financial services, or other critical operating environments. ISAUnited then assigns the appropriate Cyber Capstone, Cyber Battle Map, evidence package, and readiness objectives to support structured analysis, defensive decision-making, and measurable cyber readiness.

Workflow Steps

  1. Mission Pack: Choose the training domain.

  2. Industry Mission Setting: Select the operating environment.

  3. Cyber Capstone: Receive the assigned mission.

  4. Readiness Outcome: Complete the exercise and produce measurable results.
